Founded by Rajan Chandran, a chef with over 30 years of experience and a certified Food Safety Auditor in Victoria, our mission is to serve both excellence and assurance. We provide independent third-party food safety auditing, develop tailored food safety programs for Class 1 and 2 businesses, and guide businesses through licensing and council compliance with clarity and confidence.

Alongside our auditing services, we also offer professional catering solutions across Australia. From aged care and child care centres to weddings, corporate functions, and private events, we deliver fresh, flavourful, and culturally diverse meals prepared under strict hygiene standards. 1993

Laying the Foundation

Rajan Chandran’s culinary journey began with the completion of his degree in catering in 1993. From the very start, he was driven by a deep passion for food and a desire to serve people through flavour, hospitality, and innovation. His formal education laid the foundation for a career that would soon span continents, cuisines, and generations.

1995

Early Recognition at Taj Hotel, Bangalore

Just two years into his career, Rajan received the prestigious South Ethnic Award in a culinary competition held at the iconic Taj Hotel in Bangalore. This award recognised not only his skill in South Indian cuisine but also his creative approach to cultural dishes. It was his first taste of public recognition—and the moment that affirmed his calling in the culinary world.

1996

Spreading His Wings in Miami

In 1996, Rajan took his passion overseas and began working as a professional chef in Miami, Florida. Here, he was immersed in a melting pot of global cuisines—from Latin American to Caribbean influences—and learned how to adapt traditional flavours to international palates. It was a turning point in his career, helping him grow as a global chef with a refined taste for diversity and presentation.

1998

A Taste of Victory

Rajan’s dedication to his craft led him to compete in several culinary challenges, and in 1998, he proudly won three bronze medals in professional culinary competitions. These awards symbolised not just technical skill, but creativity, discipline, and an ability to consistently deliver excellence under pressure.

2004

Mastering the World’s Flavours at Sea

In 2004, Rajan joined a luxury cruise line as a chef—a role that allowed him to cook for thousands of guests from around the world. Sailing across oceans, he explored and mastered international cuisines, from European fine dining to Asian fusion and Mediterranean classics. Working in fast-paced, multicultural kitchens, he developed a deep respect for food safety, organisation, and consistency—skills that would serve him for life.

2008

Leadership in Australia as Executive Chef

Rajan moved to Australia in 2008 and quickly rose to become an Executive Chef. In this role, he led kitchen operations in major establishments, designing menus, training staff, and bringing his global experience into local hospitality. His leadership ensured high standards in every meal served, while his creativity continued to evolve with the Australian food landscape.

2013

Serving with Purpose in Aged Care

Rajan’s focus shifted in 2013 when he joined the aged care sector as a chef. Here, he combined his culinary expertise with compassion—crafting meals that were nutritious, safe, and tailored to the needs of elderly residents. He gained in-depth knowledge of the IDDSI framework and committed himself to serving the most vulnerable with dignity, care, and flavour.

2020

Becoming a Food Safety Leader

With a drive to do more, Rajan completed a Diploma in Food Technology in 2020 and became an Approved Third-Party Food Safety Auditor in Victoria. This achievement marked a new chapter—combining his culinary background with regulatory expertise to help food businesses across Victoria become compliant, safe, and audit-ready. Today, Rajan leads Yogan Food Services, offering not only quality catering but also expert food safety auditing and tailored food safety programs.
